Technical Details

I acquired one Eiger RP100 from Andrew Knoflicek in 2008, and a second from Garden Machine Tools in 2010.

The Eiger RP100 is forged from aluminum alloy and then soft anodized. Mine is 172 mm. tall, 150 mm. wide, and 13 mm. thick. The rope hole is 71 mm. high and 74 mm. wide. The top center thickness is 13 mm. The shaft length and width are 65 mm. and 39 mm., respectively. The auxiliary hole is 18.7 mm. high and 18.7 mm. wide. The eye measures 21 mm. by 31 mm. The ears are 23.5 mm. long. My Eiger RP100 weighs 197 g.

One side of the shaft has a logo, "eiger," and "RP100" in raised letters. The other side has a raised rigging icon, an up-pointing arrow, and "35 kN."

Comments

The Eiger RP100 is another forged aluminum rescue eight with ears.

The ears are larger than they need to be, and the auxiliary hole cannot be used as a belay slot. Like all rescue eights, this one is too large and heavy for an eight - there are much better devices that are smaller than this.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
