Technical Details

I acquired this Koala Equipment Pouliz 3.1 from FSAS, LLC in 2023.

My Koala Equipment Pouliz 3.1 is 101 mm. long, 157 mm. wide, 43 mm. high, and weighs 804 g.

The Pouliz 3.1 is a zip line trolley designed for 12-13 mm. wire rope. The rear plate is 7,5 mm. aluminum. Two 39 mm. diameter, 17.5 mm. thick sheaves rotate on axles the top of the frame. The sheaves have 14 mm. wide, 2.5 mm. deep U-shaped grooves on the rim. The axles are threaded on each end and secured with special nuts. The front carrier is 4 mm. stainless steel.. Ears at each end bend rearward to cover the sides of the sheaves, and a plastic finger guard at the top covers both sheaves. The lower portion of the rear plate has a stainless steel insert on each side. It's attachment is not clearly visible.

A swivel eye and locking mechanism are connected to the rear plate by two socket-head cap screws. The eye has a 28 mm. wide, 14 mm. high oval opening. The locking mechanism is controlled by a spring-loaded plunger hidden behind a sticker on the front face. A special tool (or even a paper clip) can be used to depress the plunger and open the gate.

The rear plate is stamped with "CE0082," "EN17109-2020," "Ø," "MAX 13 MM," "MIN 12 MM," the Koala logo, "KOALA EQUIPMENT," a book-with-an-"i" icon, and "21 333." All these stampings are so faint that they are nearly invisible.

Comments

The Pouliz is solidly made. The gate does not close completely, leaving a 6.8 mm. opening. The sticker covering the gate release must be removed to open the gate. Presumably the operators would have a ready supply of stickers, assuming they don't simply dispense with them entirely.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
