I acquired this Troll Rope Slider from Equipment Outdoors in 2023.
My Troll Rope Slider is 32 mm. long, 75 mm. wide, 10 mm. high, and weighs 45 g.
The Rope Slider is a simple aluminum plate with rounded ends. It has two well-rounded 14 mm. holes spaced 35 mm. apart.
Each side of the Rope Slider is stamped with "troll" inside an ellipse.
The Rope Slider looks like it could have several uses, and neither Miles Bradshaw of Equipment Outdoors nor I were certain of which one was the original intent. I contacted Dave Allport, formerly of Troll, and he sent this explanation:
You can also use the Rope Slider as a Thrun Ascender, if you are climbing with battleship mooring lines. The piece of equipment you sent a photo of is nothing more than a rope slider for forming a quick looped anchor. You thread it on the rope and slide it along for about 1M, then you tie a knot in the end and fix a karabiner. You thread the karabiner around the anchor point and clip it into the bridge of rope that is in the slider. Quick adjustable anchor on the end of your rope.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
