↑ 280: Cassin Étrier Steps
- Made in Italy [1950s].
- These are set up as a 4-step étrier.
- Thick aluminum step with Brass grommets at the rope holes.
Six triangular longitudinal ridges on the upper side of the step. The lower side is smooth.
Ridges on the top surface provides better traction than putting the smooth lower side upward does. - Stamped with the Cassin logo and "ITALY" on bottom (flat side) center of the step.
- Tied webbing aiders replaced hard-step European étriers in the USA by the 1960s. Sewn versions came later.
