The Mystery origin 3-slot device is a forged steel device that is 498 mm. long, 99 mm. wide, 7 mm. high, and weighs 115 g. It has three slots that are each 34 mm. long.

There are no markings on this device.

Comments

I have no idea who made it, but it appears to have been made as a belay device. It has two parallel slots for twin rope belay, and a third slot for single rope. All slots are the same size. Whichever end is not in use makes a reasonable handle to hold on to. The device is steel so it will wear well, but it tends to get hot.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
