OPC
(Olivier Peron Caillet)

OPCOlivier Perin Caillet sent me this knot of his own design. It is basically a six-turn helical wrap with the top tucked under the second coil. He wrote the following description:

"This one I use for pruning, it certainly exists already but it comes from me, from my reflection. I like it because it has just one crossing in the upper part whereas the rest of the knot is ’free,’ without any other crossing. So it’s very soft but always ready to ’grip.’ Maybe it already has a name, but I've not done any research on this."

For lack of a better name, not having seen this knot before, I'm calling it the OPC.

Note:
The performance of any ascending knot depends on the diameter, material, construction, and condition of both the main line and the ascender knot sling material. It may also depend on exactly how one ties the knot. Your knot’s performance can easily differ from mine.

Hundreds of cell phone users complained and asked me to for a simpler, mobile friendly site. In particular, they wanted me to limit each page to a small number of pictures and minimize my use of text. This new site provides what they asked for.
