Ice Axes & Ice Hammers

Yoshiichi Nimura was born in Aichi Prefecture. At the age of fifteen, he became an apprentice to a swordsmith in Gamagori City After four years of training, he returned to Toyota and opened a blacksmithy. He mainly made knives and agricultural tools, but he made three ice axes for the first time in 1953 when a friend asked him to do so. After that, he started to prototype axes. He eventually settled on three models. He lost his blacksmithing tools in a fire sometime around 2005-2015.
