Riccardo Cassin was an Italian mountaineer. Cassin began designing and producing mountaineering equipment in Lecco in 1947 when he produced his first rock pitons. In 1948 he produced his first hammers; his first ice axes appeared in 1949; and 1950 saw the introduction of his carabiners. Located near C.A.M.P., he worked closely with but separately from them. C.A.M.P. acquired the Cassin trademark in 1997.

Cassin Half-Moons date back to at least 1983, with versions continuing after C.A.M.P. acquired the Cassin trademark. They appear in my 1998 C.A.M.P. Cassin catalog but not in my 2001 C.A.M.P. catalog.
Micro Half–Moons used a numbering scheme where #01 is size -1 (i.e. negative 1 or minus 1), #02 is size -2, and #03 is size -3 in Half-Moon numbering.

Color Anodized
C.A.M.P. introduced colored Half-Moons in 2010. They appeared in the 2010 and 2011 C.A.M.P. Cassin Catalogs, but were absent in 2012.
Micro Half-Moons were not listed in those catalogs, but since I have them, they must have existed. My Micro Half–Moons used a numbering scheme where #01 is size -1 (i.e. negative 1 or minus 1), #02 is size -2, and #03 is size -3 in Half-Moon numbering.
