Sebastian (Wastl) Mariner (1909-1989) designed the Mawra carabiners. These were produced in the 1950s and 1960s. The design evolved through the years, with production including both locking and non-locking models.

Stubai produced the Mawra ice screws and I believe that they produced the Mawra cartabiners after adopting the Stubai name. See the Stubai D Carabiners page for Stubai Mawra-shape carabiners lacking Mawra markings.
